William Merritt

Grandview, Indiana William A. "Toby" Merritt, 57, passed away December 19, 2018, as a result of a motorcycle accident near Rockport. He was born in Owensboro, Kentucky April 15, 1961 son of Jerry E. Merritt and the late Joyce A. (Nugent) Mitchell. Also preceding him in death was his sister, Debbie Clark, brother, Wyman Therber and nephew Fred Merritt. Toby was a U.S. Army veteran, and worked in construction most of his life. He was a good mechanic, enjoyed traveling on his motorcycle and has participated in competitive motorcycle ice racing in Colorado. He is survived by his daughters, Sheena and Nakita, both of Colorado; father, Jerry Merritt (Darlene), Cannelton; step father, Vernon Mitchell, Grandview; sisters, Bobbi Sabelhaus (Pat McKinney), Grandview, Shannon Merritt (Chris), New Hampshire, Theresa Galey (Curtis), Tell City, Tammy Merritt, Tobinsport (Mark Brinksneader), Misty Bolin (Tracy), Cannelton; brother, Vernon "Bud" Mitchell, Grandview; grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM CST Friday, December 21, 2018 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Pastor Dan Hopkins will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time on Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to Rolling Thunder.
