William Cochenour

Troy, Indiana William J. "Bill" Cochenour, 76, passed away July 22, 2018 at Deaconess Gateway in Newburgh, Indiana. He was born in Evansville, Indiana May 13, 1942, son of the late James V. and Eleanor (Hoops) Cochenour. Also preceding him in death was his brother, Robert Cochenour. Bill was a 1960 graduate of Dale High School and earned a Master's degree from Indiana State University in education. He was united in marriage to Nancy (Brown) Cochenour on October 7, 1962, who survives. Bill taught auto mechanics and math from 1964 through 1969 in Connersville, Indiana. He and his wife Nancy owned and operated Cochenour Chrysler from 1980 through 2005. Bill retired in 2010 from Century Aluminum after 42 years, where he was an environmental engineer. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Lamar and Masonic Lodge #15 in Connersville, Indiana. Bill enjoyed cars, woodworking, going to Gulf Shores, working and teaching others and especially spending time with his family and grandchildren. Bill is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nancy Cochenour; son, Joe Cochenour (Cissy), Evanston, Indiana; daughters, Karen Conner (Maury) Scottsboro, Alabama and Dianna Cundiff (Rod), Boonville, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Andrea Hudson, Amanda Pfeifer, Will and Wesley Conner, Heath Cain, Brianna and Kayley Cundiff and four great grandchildren, Asher, Kinley, Jacelyn and Breleigh. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM CST on Wednesday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel with burial in St. John's United Church of Christ Cemetery in Lamar, Indiana. Pastor Steve Bennett will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday, with a Masonic service at 6:30 PM by Rome Masonic Lodge #133 and from 9:00 until 10:00 AM Wednesday.
