Tell City, Indiana - William D. ""Bill"" Braunecker, 82, died Monday, March 15, 2004, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City. He was born on May 9, 1921, in Uniontown in Perry County, Indiana. His parents were the late Joseph and Adeline (Massey) Braunecker. A brother, August J. Braunecker also preceded him in death. Bill retired in 1967 from the United States Air Force after twenty years and was a member of American Legion Post #213 in Tell City. A member of St. Paul Catholic Church and William Tell Senior Citizens in Tell City, Bill enjoyed dancing, playing cards, gardening and yard work. He is survived by a son, David C. Braunecker of Concord, California sisters, Anna Heeke of Tell City and Rosa Rogier of Greenville, Kentucky a granddaughter, Emily Braunecker a grandson, Joseph Braunecker a special friend, Mary Frakes of Tell City nieces, Alberta Hanners, Shirley Sullivan, Rosemary LaGrange, Rita LaGrange, Vicky Sue Rogier and Ruth Norris and nephews, Robert Heeke, Patrick Heeke, Francis Heeke, Daniel Heeke, James Heeke, Paul Rogier and William Rogier Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM EST Thursday, March 18, 2004, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City, Rev. Carl Deitchman, OSB officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery in St. Croix, Indiana, with American Legion Post #213 conducting military graveside rites. Friends may call from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday and from 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM on Thursday at Huber Funeral Home, 1139 Twelfth Street in Tell City. There will be a prayer service Wednesday evening at 8:00 PM at Huber Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church or Holy Cross Catholic Church.
