William "Bill" Olberding

William F. “Bill” Olberding, 83, passed away on April 21, 2025.

He was born on May 31, 1941, to the late William H. and Ida Mae (Kendall) Olberding.

Bill was a United States Army veteran. He was united in marriage on March 2, 1963, to Joanne Veatch at Fourth Street Baptist Church in Cannelton. He retired from Whirlpool where he worked for over 40 years.

Bill enjoyed playing cards and loved watching sports of any kind. He was especially a fan of the Indianapolis Colts and IU basketball.

Surviving is his wife, Joanne Olberding; children, Jeff Olberding, Steve Olberding (“Kat”) and Mark Olberding; sisters, Judy Garrett (Bill) and Jeanne Wroe; a brother, Bob Olberding (Darlene); grandchildren, Kaitlyn Olberding and Brylee Olberding and great grandchildren, Landon Olberding, Taylor, Sanae and Nolan Willis.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM CDT on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Burial will follow in New Cliff Cemetery, Cannelton with military rites.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 3:00-7:00 PM CDT and Thursday from 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church in Cannelton.
