Wilbur Lee ""Wib"" Scarboro, 81, passed peacefully on Thursday, January 6, 2011, at University of Louisville Hospital. He was born on June 29, 1929, in Cannelton, son of the late Grady and Fredda (West) Scarboro. Also preceding him in death was a sister, Beth Sandage and a brother, Louis ""Snooks"" Scarboro. A 1948 Troy High School graduate, Wib was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving during the Korean Conflict and he then married the former Anna Mitchell. They were united in marriage on June 22, 1957, in Louisville, Kentucky. Wib Scarboro's Barbershop, a well known Louisville institution for over 50 years, was located on the corner of 5th and Market. He cut hair, told jokes and participated in all forms of debauchery (not necessarily in that order). Wib was an avid hunter and fisherman as well as a dedicated family man. He was a University of Kentucky fan and a Cincinnati Reds fan. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 8, 2011, at Greenwood Cemetery. Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel, will be handling arrangements. Veterans of Foretign Wars Post #2939 will provide military graveside rites. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources, #1 Sportsman's Lane, Frankfort, KY 40601.
