Tell City, Indiana Wayne Albin, 91, passed away February 7, 2016 at his home. He was born in Bristow, July 27, 1924, son of the late Claudis and Flavia (Sturgeon) Albin. Also preceding him in death was his wife Bettye (Gordon) Albin in 2001; sisters, Fay Oxley (George), Wanda Kowal (Will), and Tina Smith (Fred) and his beloved friend, Enid Kessner. Wayne was a decorated U.S. Army veteran of World War II where he was awarded a Purple Heart and three Bronze Stars during his military service from 1943-1945. He retired from Tell City Chair Company and was a member of Bristow Christian Church, American Legion Post #213, Branchville Masonic Lodge #496 and a life member of the National Rifle Association. Wayne enjoyed playing euchre, watching IU basketball, fishing, hunting, playing the guitar, dancing, birdwatching and woodworking. He is survived by his daughters, Kim Albin (Gary Brahm) Bristow and Vicki Harding (Richard), Bremerton, Washington; son, Jeff Albin (Tammie Picou), Tell City; sisters, Fern Ubelhor (Al), Tell City, Pat Pund (Cletus), Tell City, and Bonnie Miller, Hawesville, Kentucky; brother, Linnie Albin (Irene), Tell City. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 7:00 PM CST on Thursday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. There will be a Masonic memorial service at 7:00 PM. At Wayne's request, funeral services will be private for the family with burial in Bristow Cemetery where there will be military rites conducted by the American Legion Post #213. Memorial contributions may be made to Bristow Cemetery Fund or Bristow Christian Church.
