Tell City, Indiana - Wanda Lee Poehlein, 80, passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2011, at her home. She was born in Hawesville, Kentucky, on December 31, 1930. Her parents were the late Jesse and Cornelia (Alsip) Nugent. Also preceding her in death were her brothers, George, Jesse Bill Nugent and her husband, Glenward D. ""Duke"" Poehlein. She retired as an inspector from Tell City Chair Company and was a member of First Baptist Church in Tell City. Wanda enjoyed puzzles, shopping, flower gardening, walking and helping with flower arrangements at her church. Surviving is a daughter, Valerie Howe (Butch), Evansville; a son, Mike Poehlein (Alisa), Cannelton; sisters, Jean Morrison, Cannelton and Ruth Coyle, Hawesville, Kentucky; a brother, Kenneth Nugent, Lewisport, Kentucky; grandchildren, Rachelle Blackford (Greg), Angela Cox and Shawna Etheridge, all of Evansville; 4 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 5, 2011, Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Monday and from 9:00 AM until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home. Rev. Lee Brown will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church in Tell City.
