Wally Gruver

Walden "Wally" Gruver, 86, passed away on March 21, 2022 at Golden Living Center-Lincoln Hills. He was born in Perry County on February 15, 1936, the youngest of ten children, to Albert and Cora (Criss) Gruver. A graduate of Tell City High School, Wally was a United States Army veteran. He retired in 1999 from Holland Dairy after 20 years. After retirement he worked several seasons at Holiday World. Surviving are his step children, Bobbi Oost (Dave), Bruce Greenland and Joyce Stath (Gary); step grandchildren, Kelly Fordyce (Cory Cook), Erin Fordyce (Nadi Neycheva), Morgan Wheatley (Ethan), Bethany Stiles (Ben), Emily Greenland, Andy Peter (Taya Franchville) and Evan Greenland; step great-grandchildren, Layne and Rhett Cail, Kinley Fordyce, Paisley Cook and Ruby Mauretta Stiles and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Mauretta "Rita" Gruver in January 2022 and his siblings, Arlene Chapple, Florence Sanders, Jo Chapman, Marie Heck, Maxine Woodruff, Peggy Heck, Edna Carter, Ruth Disher and Criss Gruver. There will be no services with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Perry County Special Olympics.
