Tell City, Indiana Virginia L. Evans, 87, passed away on January 2, 2022, surrounded by her family. She was born at home in Ranger, Indiana on September 2, 1934, daughter of Otis and Ada (Lawalin) Malone. Virginia was a 1952 graduate of Troy High School. She was united in marriage on September 11, 1954 to B. Allen Evans, who preceded her in death. Virginia attended First United Methodist Church in Cannelton. She had worked at Fisher's Chair Company and for over 35 years was a cook, originally at Stein's and upon future ownership changes, Yaggi's, Rumors and most recently Lawson's. She had always laughed about coming with the building. Virginia worked at Lawson's until March of 2020. During her most recent hospital stay, her goal was to get back home so that she could continue watching "them kids". She will be remembered as being spunky, feisty and genuine but mostly a nurturing person. Her love language was food; no one left her house without a full belly or a butter container full of leftovers, as no one was trusted to bring back the "good containers". Surviving are her children, Charlotte Lloyd, Tell City, Pam Stowe, Cannelton and Joyce Krusa (Brian), Stevens Point, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Cassey Young (C.J.), Jennifer Coyle (Chris), Edie Powers (Ryan), Joe Seifert and Allison Krusa; great grandchildren, Evan Whitfield, Jace Coyle, Gavin, Ella and Dylan Powers and Carter Seifert and a sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Malone, Tell City. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Allen Evans; grandson, Barry Lee Stowe; great granddaughter, Jessica Lee Whitfield and siblings, Leola Krieg, Alvin Malone, Jean Faulkenburg, Jim Malone and Tom Malone. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM CST on Friday, January 7, 2022 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Burial will follow in New Cliff Cemetery, Cannelton. Visitation will be on Thursday from 3:00-7:00 PM and Friday 9:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Claudia Williams. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or can be made at any German American Bank location.
