Troy, Indiana Virginia E. Epple, 90, passed away April 7, 2018 at Oakwood Health Campus, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born in Spencer County, Indiana on February 7, 1928, daughter of the late William and Kate (Covey) Moorehead. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Herman Epple in 2015; her son, Greg Epple; grandson, Nicholas Philipps; sister, Mary Lou Baum and her twin sister in infancy, Verlee Moorehead. Virginia was valedictorian of Tell City High School Class of 1946. She had worked at Perry Central Community Schools as a secretary for 28 years, retiring in 1994. She was a member of Tell City Church of Christ. Virginia enjoyed reading, crocheting and traveling. She was very fond of her trip to Israel with her husband for their 40th wedding anniversary. Surviving are her children, Steven Epple (Judy), Mill Creek, WA, Katie Heeke (Jim), Troy, IN and Jancy Lawalin, Murfreesboro, TN; daughter-in-law, Kathy Epple, Troy, IN; grandchildren, Jamie Logel (Chris), Logan Heeke (Elizabeth), Laura Beth Philipps (Derrick), Jacob Lawalin (Kayla), Brooke Lawalin, Debbie Simmons (Brad), Michelle Brown (Mark) and Mike Garwood; great-grandchildren, Calib, Lleyton and Legend Logel, Garrett, Abigail and Samuel Heeke, Adeline and Ike Philipps, Bexley and Taylyn Lawalin, Lizzie Simmons and Maia Brown. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM CST Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Tell City Church of Christ. Rev. Ben Rake will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2:00-8:00 PM at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel and Wednesday from 9:00-10:00 AM at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Tell City Church of Christ, Perry Central Library Fund or a favorite charity.
