Virgie Hubert

Tell City, Indiana Virgie Lois Hubert, 91, passed away at Oakwood Health Campus on Sunday, May 22, 2022. She was born in Perry County on May 16, 1931 to Henry J. and Mathilda (Murphy) Hubert. Virgie was a graduate of Oil Township High School and retired in 1989 from General Electric after 38 years of service. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. Virgie loved to play cards, especially euchre and rummy, with her friends and neighbors at Twilight Towers. She liked to play bingo and shop. She loved to travel, having visited all 50 states numerous times. Surviving are nieces and nephews, Beverly Devillez, Suzanne Jaquemai (John), Mary Tanner, Paul Hubert (Pam), John Hubert and Cletus Hubert, Jr. and several great nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents and brothers, Kermit, Preston and Cletus Hubert. Her family would like to acknowledge and thank Oakwood Health Campus and Heart to Heart Hospice for the exceptional care they gave to their aunt. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:0 AM CDT on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Rev. Brian Esarey will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday at the church from 9:00-11:00 AM. Memorial contributions may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice.
