Violet M. "Vi" Rust, 75, passed away on August 24, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born in Tell City on May 14, 1948, to Robert H. "Bob" and Maxine C. (Humphrey) Nelson.

Vi was a 1966 graduate of Tell City High School and was united in marriage at St. Paul Catholic Church on July 5, 1969 to Frank Joe Rust. They had recently celebrated 54 years together.

She retired from Southern Indiana R.E.C where she was a cashier for over 25 years and she had also worked at Commercial Filters.

Vi loved pitching horseshoes and had been a state champion and also pitched in world championship tournaments in Biloxi, MS. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, bowling, being outdoors and flower gardening. Vi also adored animals, especially her Yorkies, Jaxon and Gabby and her cat, Toby.

Surviving is her husband, Joe Rust, and their son, Marc Rust and his wife, Angela, all of Tell City. Her parents preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM CDT on Monday, August 28, 2023 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Rev. Kolbe Wolniakowski will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 2:00-6:00 PM and Monday from 9:00-10:00 AM at the funeral home.
