Violet Goodson

Cannelton, Indiana Violet R. Goodson, 81, of Cannelton, passed away Monday, June 22, 2009 at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City. Violet was born in Breckinridge County, Kentucky on October 29, 1927, daughter of the late Hobart Tindle and Louise Roberts Tindle. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Leo Goodson in 1992, a twin son in infancy, two sisters, Rose Hurder and Ethel Faulkenberg and a brother, James Tindle. Violet retired from General Electric in Tell City. She formerly attended First Baptist Church in Cannelton and has currently been attending Calvary Missionary Church in Cloverport, Kentucky. An avid sports fan, she followed I U basketball and the Atlanta Braves. Violet is survived by two daughters, Linda Jones and her husband, Fella, Chrisney, Indiana Kathy Oliva and her husband, Jay, Troy, Indiana One son, Steve Goodson and his wife, Kathy, Tell City, Indiana Two sisters, Edith Stowe, Cannelton, Indiana Shirley McDaniel, Cannelton, Indiana Three brothers, Elbert Tindle, Cloverport, Kentucky Kenny Tindall, Cloverport, Kentucky Donnie Tindall, Cloverport, Kentucky Seven grandchildren, Brian Jones, Cindy and Brent Weatherholt, Shawn Howe, Shannon Etienne, Krisha and Steven Goodson Five great grandchildren, Cody Jones, Alias Weatherholt, Braeden and Jaelynn Etienne, Rylan Howe Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 25, 2009, at Huber Funeral Home, 129 N. 6th Street, Cannelton, Indiana with burial in New Cliff Cemetery. Bro Tim Mattingly will officiate. Visitation is from 2:00 - 8:00 PM Wednesday and 9:00 - 11:00 AM Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Missionary Church.
