Victor Eckert

Birdseye, Indiana - Victor A. Eckert, 75, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2011, at Core Nursing and Rehab in Dale. He was born in Uniontown on January 25, 1936. His parents were the late Benjamin Harrison Eckert and Emma Ellen (Kendall) Eckert. Also preceding him in death was a son, Dino Eckert and a daughter, Kristine Adams; sisters, Elizabeth Englert, Hettie Howe, Alice Powell, Mamie Garland, Mabel Houchins and Sarah; brothers, Herman, Bill, John and Russell Eckert. A 1954 graduate of Bristow, Victor retired from General Motors in 2000, after 41 years of service. He was a member of Anderson Valley Christian Church. Surviving are his daughter Robin Eckert, Spring Hills, FL; sisters, Nellie Recenbeck, Huntingburg; a brother, Howard Eckert and grandchildren, Jessica Ferguson, Allen Carter, Shawn Carter, Sarah Adams and Kelley Adams and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 22, 2011, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in Kellems Cemetery near Birdseye. Bro. Jack Wilson will officiate. Visitation will be from 3:00 until 7:00 PM on Friday and from 9:00 AM until service time on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association.
