Tell City, Indiana Verna Lee Thomas, 82, of Tell City, went on to her heavenly home on Friday, October 26, 2007 at Perry County Memorial Hospital. Verna Lee was born in Perry County on June 1, 1925, daughter of the late Stanley Bolin and Emma Layman Bolin. She was also preceded in death by a son Billy Thomas, her husbands, Oliver Thomas, Melvin Houchin and Bertis Renfro, two sisters, Stella DeWitt and Maytha Haaff, three brothers, Norman and James Bolin and Stanley Bolin, Jr. Verna Lee was a graduate of Troy High School and was a homemaker, raising her large family. She enjoyed reading, sewing, writing journals and poems and spending time with her family. Verna Lee was active in the Troy Bethel Pentecostal Church. She is survived by five sons, Terry Thomas, Cannelton, Indiana Ronald Thomas, Boonville, Indiana Gary Ray Thomas, Tobinsport, Indiana John Thomas, Tell City, Indiana Danny Thomas, Tell City, Indiana Three daughters, Vicky Best, Huntingburg, Indiana Linda Reed, Cannelton, Indiana Salome LaMarche, Evansville, Indiana Two brothers, Melvin Bolin, Tell City, Indiana Kenneth Bolin, Antelope, California One sister, Bertha Lawalin, Cannelton, Indiana 17 grandchildren 29 great grandchildren Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, October 29, 2007 at Huber Funeral Home, 1139 12th Street, Tell City, Indiana with burial in Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Tell City. Rev. Scott Thomas will officiate. Visitation is from 2:00 - 8:00 PM Sunday and from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
