Verna Bolin

Cannelton, Indiana - Verna M. Bolin, 89, passed away on June 6, 2015, at Oakwood Health Campus in Tell City. She was born on January 14, 1926, daughter of the late Clarence and Themora (McLain) Gunn. Also preceding her in death are her husband, James A. "Jim" Bolin, son-in-law, Kenneth Critchlow and great grandsons, K. Austin Mattingly and Shay C. Atwood. A graduate of Cannelton High School, Verna retired from the former Schwab Safe Company and had worked for several years at General Electric. She was a faithful member of Hawesville Baptist Church and enjoyed crocheting, especially for her grandchildren. Verna is survived by her daughter, Ella Critchlow of Peru, Indiana; grandchildren, Pamela Atwood (John), Grant, Michigan and Karl Mattingly (Judy), Peru, Indiana, great grandchildren, Kayla Atwood and Connor Mattingly and a brother, Carl E. Gunn, Fulda, Indiana. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel, with burial in New Cliff Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 PM on Monday and from 9:00 AM until service time on Tuesday. Rev. Barry Fields will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Hawesville Baptist Church, Hawesville Kentucky.
