Tell City, Indiana Vera C. Story, 81, passed away Friday, October 10, 2008, at Owensboro Medical Health Systems. She was born August 31, 1927 in Albany, Kentucky daughter of the late Floyd Herbert and Vera Ermon (Huddleston) Cowan. Also preceding her in death was her husband Willie Edward Story, a daughter, Sharon Underhill, sons, Donald Wayne in infancy, and Gib Story, four sisters, Florene Polston, Dora Dean Jones, Archie and Oren Cowan and a half-sister, Pearl Cowan. A homemaker, she was Baptist by faith, and enjoyed cooking, embroidering, flower gardening, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by: 4 daughters: Phyllis Gaynor, Tell City, Indiana Wanda Cronin, Tell City, Indiana Shirley Gaynor, Tell City, Indiana Jacqueline ""Tina"" Story, Tell City, Indiana 2 sons: Randle Story, Tell City, Indiana Jim Story, Tell City, Indiana 1 sister: Bonnie Harris, Muncie, Indiana 2 brothers: Ivan Cowan, Muncie, Indiana Billy Cowan, Albany, Kentucky 18 grandchildren Jeff Sams, Rich Burchett, Jonathan Mulzer, Lori Burns, Candy Lawson, Jamie Johnson, Angie Sartan, Lena Story, Chad Vincent, Doug Elkins, Saundra Mae Underhill, Brad Schraner, Jimmy Story, Adam Gaynor, Amber and Hannah Schulthise,Colton Story and Donald Wayne Story 23 great grandchildren 1 great-great grandson Funeral services will be on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at 11:00 AM CST at Weldon Haddix Funeral Home in Albany, Kentucky with burial in Craig Cemetery. Bro. Jerry Rich will officiate. There will be visitation on Sunday, October 12, 2008, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, from 2:00 until 7:00 PM. On Monday there will be visitation at Weldon Haddix Funeral Home in Albany, Kentucky, from 4:00 until 8:00 PM CST and on Tuesday from 7:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Visiting Nurse Association or Perry County Memorial Hospital Home Health.
