Velma Humphrey

Velma Marie Humphrey, 75, passed away on December 3, 2023 at her daughter’s home in Lewisport, Kentucky.

She was born in Cannelton, Indiana on October 13, 1948.

Velma was a 1967 graduate of Tell City High School. She had worked at Masterbrand, a job she loved.

She enjoyed sewing, gardening, yard work and mowing. Velma loved to spend time with her grandson and great grandchildren.

Surviving is her daughter, Melody Cross (David); sisters, Beverly Craig (Carroll), Katherine Bulich (Tom), Jean Haney (Pat) and Rita Faye Bowman; grandson, Michael Poehlein (Brandy); great grandchildren, Alexzander, Shelly, Michael, Lea Ann and Ashley and five great-great grandchildren with one on the way.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Emmett A. Bowman, Sr. and Ellen (Covey) Mayhugh; her husband, Donald Ray Humphrey and a brother, Emmett A. Bowman, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM CST on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until service time.
