Cannelton, Indiana - Timothy J. "Tim" Snyder, 34, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family. Tim was born on June 23, 1982, in Evansville, to Kenneth W. and Jane L. (Bennett) Snyder who survive him. He was a loyal member and longtime acolyte at St. John's United Church of Christ. A 2001 graduate of CHS, Tim excelled in the classroom sharing salutatorian honors and was active in basketball, baseball, track and band during his high school career. He was a torch bearer for the Salt Lake City Olympics in 2002 and was always active with Perry County Special Olympics where he participated in bowling, track, softball and basketball. Tim was a patient of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and participated in their local bike-a-thons during his grade school years. His favorite pastime was being with family, especially his nieces and nephews with whom mischief was always involved. Tim never met a stranger and enjoyed making new friends on Facebook and playing internet games. Surviving him are his parents, Jane and Ken Snyder; brothers, Matthew Snyder, his wife Andrea and their children, Alexandria Snyder and Zachary, Sarah, Josh and Elijah Nunn and Michael Snyder, his wife Amber and their children, Rylan and Ayla; grandparents, Willis and Pat Snyder. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Buddy and Alice Bennett; uncle, Rob Henning and an aunt, Virginia Long. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at St. John's United Church of Christ located at Seventh and Taylor Streets in Cannelton. Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 8:00 PM on Monday at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel. Rev. Mike Thompson and Rev. Steve Bennett will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Church or Perry County Special Olympics.
