Tell City, Indiana Timothy M. Benningfield, 28, of Sullivan, Indiana, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2015 at IU Medical Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born on August 7, 1986 in Tell City, Indiana the son of David Benningfield Jr. and Erna James. Timothy graduated from Tell City High School in 2005 and was a dispatcher for Sullivan Sheriff's Department. He was a member of a Crossroads Community Church and the SAE Fraternity at ISU. Timothy had several passions in life some of which included worshipping and serving his Lord, playing baseball, softball and football. He was an assistant coach for the Sullivan High School baseball team. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Timothy loved having campfires with his family and friends. He had a strong bond to his fraternity brothers which he shared a deep loyalty with. Timothy is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather David Benningfield Sr. and maternal grandparents Ernest and Lois James. Survivors include his father David Benningfield Jr. of Sullivan, Indiana, mother Erna James of Tell City, Indiana, five siblings; Luke Benningfield of Sullivan, Indiana, Peter Benningfield of Sullivan, Indiana, Lara Benningfield of Marshall, Illinois, Don (Dena) Buchanan of River Ridge, Louisiana and Tami Buchanan of Indianapolis, Indiana. Timothy is also survived by his paternal grandmother Kay Benningfield of Tell City, Indiana. Funeral services will be at 7:00 PM EST Thursday, May 21, 2015 at The First Christian Church in Sullivan, Indiana with Pastor Robert Hall. Friends may call from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at The First Christian Church. There will also be funeral services at 2:00 PM Friday CDT, May 22, 2015, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Tell City, Indiana with burial in St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Evanston, Indiana. Pastor Daniel Gadbaw will officiate. There will be visitation from 11:00 AM until service time at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Emmanual Lutheran Church. Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel is handling the arrangements.
