Tell City, Indiana Thomas Sprinkle, Jr., 80, passed away October 5, 2014 at St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born November 29, 1933 in Apalona, son of the late Thomas and Minnie (McGinnis) Sprinkle. Also preceding him in death were his brothers, Marion and Thurman Sprinkle, sisters, Mary Riley, Mermon, Wilma and Judy Sprinkle, daughter, Lesa Sandage, son-in-law John Sandage, and grandson-in-law Jimmy Longest. A U.S. Army veteran, he was united in marriage to Bertha Aders on June 16, 1956. Tom was a member of National Rifle Association and North American Hunting Club. He worked at several sawmills before retiring from Swiss Hardwoods in 2011, where he had worked for 26 years. Tom enjoyed farming, hunting, playing cards, going to yard sales and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Tom is survived by his wife of 58 years; Bertha Sprinkle; sons, David Sprinkle (Rita) and Roger Sprinkle (Alicia), both of Tell City; daughters, Debbie Taylor (Lester), Sherry Sandage (Ronnie) and Beverly Sprinkle, all of Tell City; brother, James Sheldon Sprinkle, Quincy, IN; grandchildren, Kristina Longest, Chastity Dalton, Tiffany Taylor, Kelly Ammon, Nathan Knight, Brittney Butt, Dylan and Katelin Sandage and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 6:00 PM Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in Beard Cemetery, Bristow, at a later date. Bro. Ron Ammon will officiate. Visitation will be from 12:00 until 6:00 PM Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to Beard Cemetery.
