Thomas Sommer

Tell City, Indiana Thomas R. Sommer, 78, passed away October 31, 2014 at Perry County Memorial Hospital. Tom was born in Perry County on August 4, 1936, son of the late Elmer F. Sommer and Mary E. Krausch Sommer. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Erma Leah Hammack Sommer in 2009; grandson, Dereck Sommer; brothers, Joe and Charles "Bud"; Sisters, Julia Lovell, Dorothy Fulkerson and Ethel Schoolcraft. Tom retired as a foreman at Fischer Chair Company. He was a member of the Perry County Coon Club. He is survived by one son, Darrel R. Sommer (Lisa) of Cannelton; a sister, Elsie Marie Poehlein, Tell City and a brother, Carl F. Sommer, Tell City; five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jessalyn, Nate, Sierra and Amanda Sommer; two step granddaughters, Naomi Flint and Kristi Flener. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Monday, November 3 at Huber Funeral Home, 1139 12th Street, Tell City. Burial will be in Schraner Cemetery. Visitation is from 3:00-7:00 PM Sunday and 11:00AM - 1:00 PM Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Schraner Cemetery.
