Cannelton, Indiana - Thelma L. Thompson, 76, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2015, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City. She was born in Cannelton on October 31, 1938. Her parents were the late Orville and Thelma (Coon) Kieser. Also preceding her in death was a son, Brian Dare Thompson, in infancy and her brother, Ronald L. Kieser. Thelma married David A. Thompson, Sr., on December 2, 1955, in Cannelton. She enjoyed camping, fishing, motorcycle riding, winters in Alabama and spending time with family and friends. Thelma had worked at Alumax Aluminum, formerly in Hawesville, Kentucky, and retired, in 1996, as co-owner of Thompson Tire. Surviving are her husband of 59 years, David A. Thompson, Sr., Cannelton; her children, David A. Thompson, Jr. (Cindy), Cannelton, Gary L. Thompson, Cannelton, Mark W. Thompson (Stephanie), Tell City, Gail L. Thompson (Lonnie Schwindel), Lewisport, Kentucky and Victoria S. Thompson, Evansville; brother, Glen Kieser, Tell City; grandchildren, Jill Johnson, Ericka Dowell, Misty Jones, David R. Thompson, Nichole Senn, Jamie Anderson, Matt Gaynor, Shalee Dowell, Shianne Taylor, Jeremy Thompson, Stephanie Thompson, Cody Sanchez, Sammy Hatfield, Tony Sanchez and Megan Sanchez and fifteen great grandchildren. Thelma requested that no visitation or funeral services be held. She asked that her family and friends always remember how much she treasured the love, laughter and friendship that was shared with her. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Huber Funeral Home is assisting the family with her wishes.
