Thelma Drake

Tell City, Indiana Thelma I. Drake, 91, passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at St. Mary's Medical Center. She was born January 4, 1919 in Tobinsport, daughter of the late Owen E. and Gladys V. (Hayden) Polk. Also preceding her in death was her husband William J. Drake, brothers, James and Robert Polk, a niece Pat Hamilton and nephew Don Polk. A 1937 graduate of Cannelton High School, Thelma married William Johnson Drake April 6, 1946. She was previously employed as an operator for 15 years at Indiana Bell and worked at Commercial Filters for 17years. Thelma enjoyed reading and country music. She is survived by a daughter Pamela Davis and her husband Mark, Tell City and 4 step-grandchildren Billy, James, John and Mark Davis. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Huber Funeral Home Tell City Chapel with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Rev. Dr. Elmer Shelby will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 8:00 PM on Friday and from 9:00 AM until service time Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to Lamb Cemetery in Tobinsport.
