Ted Mitchell

Tell City, Indiana Ted R. Mitchell, 80, passed away January 30, 2018 at Perry County Memorial Hospital. He was born September 19, 1937 in Alton, Indiana, son of the late Arthur "Sticky" and Bernice (Pleasant) Mitchell. Also preceding him in death was a sister in infancy, Phyllis Mitchell, sister, Mary Cole, and brother, Denny Mitchell. Ted was united in marriage to June Clark April 9, 1977 in Mt. Pleasant. He had worked as a towboat pilot and attended Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. Ted enjoyed the river, especially boating, fishing and swimming. He was also a fan of NASCAR. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, June Mitchell, several nieces and nephews, his faithful dog, Daffy and his caregiver, Bonnie Hale. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, February 2, 2018 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel with burial in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Alton, Indiana. Bro. Marvin Culver will officiate. Visitation will be from 3:00 until 7:00 PM Thursday and from 9:00 AM until service time on Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
