Tell City, Indiana - Suzanne M. Kraus, 80, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany. She was born February 2, 1933 in Leopold, daughter of the late Daniel Curtis "D.C." and Ida (Marcilliat) Goble. Also preceding her in death was a sister, JoElla Rice; a brother, Cornelius Jamison and a son-in-law, Steve Whitaker. Suzanne was a 1951 graduate of Oil Township High School. She was united in marriage to Louis Kraus on August 18, 1951, at St. Patrick Cathedral in El Paso, Texas. Suzanne was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. Suzanne was a talented seamstress and enjoyed playing the pump organ, growing roses and spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Louis Kraus; daughters, Stephanie Whitaker, Tell City, Gretchen Durbin (Daniel), Louisville, Kentucky and Dr. Sarah Roberts (Philip), Alpharetta, Georgia; son, Greg Kraus, Terre Haute; brother, Dan Goble, Jr. (Dorothy), Tell City; six grandchildren, Jeanine Kraus, Andrew Kraus, Morgan Whitaker, Caitlin Durbin, Chloe Roberts and Natalie Roberts. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Saturday, January 18, 2014, at St. Paul Catholic Church with burial in St. Mary Cemetery. Rev. Dennis Duvelius will officiate. Visitation will be Friday 2:00 until 8:00 PM and from 8:30 until 9:30 AM Saturday at Huber Funeral Home, 1139 12th Street, Tell City. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Cemetery, American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
