Magnet

Magnet, Indiana -

Martha Sue Miller, 96, passed away on January 5, 2025, living a vibrant life filled with kindness, laughter, and endless dedication to her family, her farm, and her church.

She was born in Tell City, the daughter of Otto and Lula J. (Fuqua) Aldridge, the first of their children to be born in Indiana after moving from Kentucky. She attended elementary school in Tell City and was Valedictorian of the Troy High School class of 1946. Soon after, she met a young man named Billy Miller, a farmer. After they married, Sue moved to Magnet where she and her husband raised their family and worked their farm where it continues to prosper and grow yet today.

Sue was a homemaker most of her life, was a small business owner, and worked briefly with the county extension service. She and Billy loved to square dance and later opened B & S Square Dance Shop. Sue was also an active member of Tell City First United Methodist Church for many years.

Spending time together as a family was always something she looked forward to, especially watching her children, grandchildren and even her great grandchildren in school activities and sporting events.

Sue served her family and community through countless hours of volunteering. As an avid, 68-year supporter of 4-H, she served as a local 4-H leader, county extension leader, a member of the Perry County 4-H Council, and finally as an honorary member of the council. She was baking cookies for the 4-H fair judges at the age of 93. Sue participated in many mission trips including those to Mexico, Honduras, and Appalachia. She assisted in the loading of church mission trucks. Sue often spent her time on Fridays volunteering at a local nursing home.

Sue is survived by her devoted children, Becca Etienne, Joan Keller (Spencer), Bruce Miller, and Susan Miller; sister, Frieda Lewis; grandchildren, Jody French (Jediah), Josh Etienne (Kristi), Jared Etienne (Cherie), Kristoffer Keller (Krys), Clint Keller (Robin), Kayla Lawalin (Jacob), Garrett Miller (Crystal), Ryan Baumeister and Rhett Baumeister; great grandchildren, Justin and Jace French, Jaylie, Jax and Josie Etienne, Jada, Cannon and Wake Etienne, Elliott Street, Will Keller, Lane, Logan, Nicholas, Olivia and Owen Keller, Chloe Ramsey, Bexley, Taylyn and Brenna Lawalin, Kylar and Kacia Miller, Lydia, Tillie Jo and Crew Baumeister and a great-great granddaughter, Oaklynn Keller.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Otto, Sr. and Lula Aldridge; husband, William G. "Billy" Miller; sisters, Evalyn Treece, Jodey McLain and Joyce Richard; brothers, Jim, Bob, Otto, Jr and Tom Aldridge and a great grandson, Camiren Etienne.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM (CDT) on Monday, January 13, 2025, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial to follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Josh Harris will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time.

In lieu of flowers, her family would appreciate contributions made in her memory to go to Perry Central Athletics or Perry County 4-H.
