Tell City, Indiana - Stoney J. Freeman, 53, passed away on January 12, 2017, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. He was born on September 14, 1963, in Lumberton, North Carolina. After graduating high school, he married Genoveva Plascencia on May 12, 1989, in California. Stoney worked in construction for over twenty years, currently employed as an iron worker for Titan Construction, located in Owensboro, Kentucky. He enjoyed NASCAR and all kinds of sports, but the North Carolina Tar Heels and the Dallas Cowboys were his favorite. . Stoney traveled lots with his work but considered himself fortunate to have good friends that he worked with who were like family to him and his wife. He is survived by his wife, Gena Freeman; sons, Skylar Freeman, Evansville and Marcus Freeman, Ferdinand; parents, M.D. and Willow Freeman, Fairmont, North Carolina; sisters, Judy Hunt, Lumberton, North Carolina and Lori Kay Jones, her husband, Aaron, and their children, Emersyn and Canaan, Summerville, South Carolina and one grandchild, Leeland Freeman. Stoney's brother, Michael Allen Hunt, preceded him in death. As per Stoney's wishes, there will be no funeral services. Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, will be handling the arrangements.
