Stephen Shaul

St. Croix, Indiana Stephen Ray Shaul, 68, of St. Croix, Indiana and formerly of Noblesville, Indiana, passed away Friday, April 16, 2010 at University of Louisville Hospital in Kentucky. He was born in Anderson Indiana on June 25, 1941 to Merrill ""Pete"" Shaul and Lenora (Hersberger) Riggs. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Nancy Jack of Houston, Texas, a step-father, Joe Riggs of Noblesville, and step-mother, Gertrude Shaul of Anderson, Indiana. Steve was married on July 19, 1958 to Judith Ann (Stokes) Shaul of Noblesville. He served in the United States Navy for seven years, was employed with the Indiana Department of Corrections, then he retired from Branchville Correctional Facility's Segregation Unit. He was past commander of the American Legion Post #45 of Noblesville, a thirty-five year member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #6246 of Noblesville, the Ohio Valley Military Society, Evansville Military Club, Civil War Preservation Trust and the Perry County Museum. Steve was an avid collector of trains and military items. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and was devoted to his two Old English sheep dogs, Bucky and Eddy. He valued his relationship with his dear friends, Gary Hay and Paulette Esarey. Steve is survived by his wife of fifty years, Judy, daughter, Stephanie Dreher and her friend, Steve Reeves of Noblesville, son Ricky Shaul and his wife, Theresa of Phoenix, Arizona, daughter, Cindy Wilson and her husband, Jim of Cicero, Indiana, daughter, Jenny Hilton and her friend, Scott Beagle of Noblesville, fifteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM CDT on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at Huber Funeral Home, 1139 12th Street, Tell City, Indiana with Pastor Bob Campbell officiating. Visitation is from 4:00 until 7:00 on Wednesday at the funeral home. There will also be a visitation at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home in Noblesville on Thursday, April 22, 2010, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Perry County Museum.
