Stanley W. Harpenau, 66, passed away July 26, 2017 at his home. He was born December 28, 1950 in Tell City, Indiana, son of the late Albert and Esther (Boehm) Harpenau. Also preceding him in death was a son in infancy, Jason Harpenau, brothers, Robert L. Harpenau and Harvey Harpenau. Stanley was a 1968 graduate of Perry Central High School. He was united in marriage March 1, 1969 at St. Paul Catholic Church to Brenda Litherland, who survives. Stanley retired ten years ago from Boilermakers Local #374 and was a member of St. Pius Catholic Church. He also had been a dairy and cattle farmer, enjoyed camping, welding, gardening and being outdoors on his tractor. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Brenda, daughters, Jennifer Puertzer (Jerry), Evanston, and Sara Welsh (Scott), Paris, KY, son, Scott Harpenau (Reyne), Tell City, brothers, Jerry Harpenau (Juanita), Troy and Vernie Harpenau (Charlotte), Tell City, seven grandchildren, Joshua Puertzer (fiance' Keeley Stevenson) and Adam Puertzer, Cole, Kaelie, and Conner Harpenau, Emma and Morgan Howell and mother and father-in-law, Robert Sr. and Clara Litherland. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. Rev. Dennis Duvelius will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 8:00 PM on Friday and from 9:00 AM until service time on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
