Shirley Criss

Lamar, Indiana - Shirley C. Criss, 80, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2016. He was born in Lamar on February 16, 1936 to Tony and Alice (Hinton) Criss. Preceding him in death was his father, Tony, wife, Eveanell (Fritts) Criss and a son, Carrol Criss. Shirley was a 1954 graduate of Chrisney High School. He was a lifelong Spencer County farmer and drove a school bus for several years for North Spencer School Corporation. Shirley was a former member of Gideons International. Surviving are his mother, Alice Criss, Lamar; sons, Darrel Criss (Jeanette), Lamar and Daniel Criss (Marie), Grandview; brother, Charles Criss (Johnlyn), Lamar; grandchildren, Anthony Criss and Elijah Criss; step grandchildren, Karl Wittman (Tammy) and B.J. Wittman; step great grandchildren, Faith, Bryce, Cole and Lilly Wittman. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM CST on Friday, November 11, 2016, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in Deer Creek Cemetery near Tell City. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 8:00 PM on Thursday and from 12:00 until 2:00 PM on Friday. Pastor T. J. Milan will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Baptist Church in Newtonville.
