Magnet, Indiana Shelby O. Park, 93, of Magnet, died Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City, Indiana. Shelby was born in Perry County on April 6, 1913, son of the late George P. Park and Mary O. Parr Park. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Nickelson Park in 1998, six brothers, John B., George Clifton, Ernest, Frank, Hays Park and one brother in infancy, four sisters, Lillian Miller, Maud Willett, Yula Bryers and Nellie Park. Shelby was a 1931 graduate of Union Township High School and retired in 1975 from the Richmond State Hospital after thirty years of employment. He was a Perry County cattle farmer for twenty years, a member of Deer Creek Baptist Church and a member of the Branchville Masonic Lodge #496 F&AM for over fifty years. Shelby is survived by one son, Oliver C. Park, Magnet, Indiana one daughter, Elaine Harris, Webster, Indiana two grandchildren, Gina Park and Samantha Presley four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, January 12, 2007 at Huber Funeral Home, 1139 12th Street, Tell City, Indiana with burial in Stephenson Cemetery, Dexter, Indiana. Rev. Elmer Shelby will officiate. Visitation is from 3:00 until 8:00 P.M. Thursday and 9:00 until 10:00 A.M. Friday at Huber Funeral Home Tell City Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Stephenson Cemetery.
