Rome, Indiana Scott A. Whitehead, 53, died on February 28, 2018 in flood waters near his farm. He was born in Perry County, Indiana on March 1, 1964, son of the late Donald and Wilma "Bobbie" (Heck) Whitehead. Scott was a 1982 graduate of Perry Central High School and graduated from RETS Electronic Institute in Louisville, Kentucky with a degree in Electronic Engineering. He served for many years on the Boards of the Perry County Farm Bureau, the Perry County Cattleman's Association, and the Perry County Animal Control Board. He was a fireman with the Rome Volunteer Fire Department. Scott attended the Rome United Methodist Church, was a proud member of the N.R.A. and the Beekeeper's Association. A lifelong hunter, Scott loved nature, his farm animals, his dog "Sox", his family and friends, neighbors and community. He is survived by his wife, Angela Chapman, of Newburgh; his children, twins, Claire and Isaac, of Newburgh, and Marie Chapman Haddox, of Muncie and his sister, Dona Whitehead, of Louisville, Kentucky. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM CST on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at Rome United Methodist Church, preceded by visitation at the church from 10:00-11:00 AM. Pastor Ann Skiba will officiate. Burial will follow in Lamb Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 2:00-7:00 PM at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. The Rome Volunteer Fire Department will conduct memorial services at 7:00 PM Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to Perry County Rescue Squad, Rome Volunteer Fire Department., Rome Community Center or Rome United Methodist Church.
