Leopold, Indiana - Sandra Y. "Sandy" Sandage, 54, passed away on July 25, 2021, lovingly surrounded by her family. She was born on June 12, 1967 in Tell City, daughter of the late Larry Joseph Sandage and Victoria Catherine (Rhodes) Sandage. Also preceding her in death was a brother, Kyle Sandage. Sandy was a 1985 graduate of Tell City High School and received her Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Western Kentucky University. Sandy worked for the Perry County Welfare Department and later retired, due to illness, from Indiana Department of Corrections in Branchville where she was a classification specialist. She was proud to have received her 30-year certificate for being employed by the State of Indiana. Surviving are her sisters, Judy Little (Roger) Milltown and Rhonda James (Randy), Leopold; brother, Kelly Sandage (Gina) Newtonville; step mother, Janice Sandage, Cannelton; step brother, Jim Carter, Bloomington; several nieces and nephews for whom she adored, Stephanie Arthur (Jeremy), Marie Etienne (Jeffrey), Victoria Allen (Jesse), Heather Little, Caitlyn Little, Mason Sandage, Ethan James, Matthew Little; great nieces and nephews, Nova and Elise Arthur and Rowen and Soren Allen and her "honorary family" Barbara Varner, Jenny Chappel (Jerry), Jessica Bugg (Sean), Jodi Varner, Holly Pate (Wes), Heather Chappell, Cameron Chappell, Hailey Chappell, Jesamyn Bugg, Taegyn Bugg, Grayson Bugg, Broc Griepenstroh, Tate Griepenstroh, Ava Winters, Sam Pate, Lucy Jo Pate and Ady Chappell-Hinton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in Lilly Dale Cemetery. Pastor Tim Jellison will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 7:00 PM on Tuesday and from 9:00 AM until service time on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to Perry County Relay for Life or Heart to Heart Hospice.
