Ruth Shore

Cannelton, Indiana - Ruth I. Shore, 94, passed away at 7:05 PM on Friday, September 10, 2010, at her home in Cannelton. A native of Perry County, she was born at Millstone on September 28, 1915. Her parents were the late Garfield and Mary Katherine (Hawhee) Harris. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William ""Green River"" Shore in 1964, a sister, Helen Kiestner and her daughter, Joyce Gaynor in 2002. A 1933 graduate of Cannelton High School, Ruth retired from William Tell Woodcrafters after 40 years of service and was a member of Seventh Street Baptist Church. Surviving are her sons, David Shore and his wife, Barbara, of Cadiz, Kentucky and Thomas Shore and his wife, Donna, of Rockport, Indiana. Also surviving are six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. The family extends a special thank you to Ashlyn Ayer for the special care she gave to our mother. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 13, 2010, at Seventh Street Baptist Church with burial in New Cliff Cemetery. Pastor Harold Draper will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 6:00 PM on Sunday and from 9:00 until 10:30 on Monday at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel.
