Ruth A. Linneweber, 94, formerly of Westphalia, of Vincennes, passed away Tuesday November 20, 2012 at BridgePointe Health Campus. Ruth was born December 18, 1917 in Knox county, the daughter of Casper and Selma (Volle) Meyer. Ruth graduated from Monroe City High School in 1935 and went on to attend the Indiana Business College and graduated in 1937. Ruth was a farmer's daughter, working alongside her parents and sisters on their family farm in Harrison Township, where her two sons, now live and continue working the family farm. She could tell many stories about attending a one room school just a few miles from the farm and working with a team of horses in the fields when she was 14. On June 10, 1939 she married Carl Linneweber of Westphalia, who passed away in October of 1989, also a farmer and became a farmer's wife for the rest of her life. A wonderful cook, she was also a skilled seamstress usually charging her friends only with a "smile and a thank you". She also attended the Salem United Church of Christ for many years and was apart of the Knox County Extension Homemakers Club. Ruth is survived by her sons, Wally (Jeannie) Linneweber of Vincennes and Joe (Dale) Linneweber of Vincennes; daughter Karen (Pat) Richard of Cannelton, IN; seven grandchildren, Scott (Danielle) Linneweber of Indianapolis, Michelle (Dennis) Stafford of Vincennes, Kyle (Abby) Linneweber of Vincennes, Megan (fiancee Cody) Linneweber of Vincennes, Chad Carrie of Fort Worth, TX, Danielle (Richard) Morgan of Minneapolis, IN and Chris Linneweber of Vincennes; and three great granddaughters, Elliott Linneweber, Reagan Stafford and Kyndrix Linneweber. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Carl; brother Arthur Meyer; sisters Lillian Sander, Helen Buckthal, and Edna Meyer; one grandchild Jennelle Linneweber; and two daughters-in-law Jennifer (Blann) Linneweber and Sherry (Hall) Linneweber.
