Rosie Nelson

Tell City, Indiana - Rosie M. Nelson, 95, passed away on April 23, 2015. She was born in Doolittle Mills on July 12, 1919. Her parents were the late Edward and Sadie (Conrad) Dupont. Also preceding her in death was her first husband, Elsby Underhill, in 1969; second husband, Marlin "Gump"Nelson, in 2007; son, Archie Underhill; brothers, Oscar, James, William, John, Clarence and Hershel Dupont and a sister, Elsie Irish. Rosie had been an employee of General Electric for twenty-three years. She enjoyed her flowers, raising chickens and working crossword puzzles. Surviving are her daughter, Phyllis Law, Leopold; son, Johnny Underhill (Linda), Birdseye; brother, Raymond Dupont, Eckerty; step daughter, Sandy Poll; step sons, Gary and Robert Nelson; ten grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and several step grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, April 29, 2015, with Pastor Al Madden officiating. Burial is in Doolittle Mills Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 7:00 PM on Tuesday and from 9:00 AM until service time on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
