Rose Z. Parker, 93, passed away on March 13, 2024.


She was born in Tell City, daughter of William J. and Oma M. (Kluesner) Goffinet.


Rose was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and she liked to sew, crochet, garden, and making crafts. She enjoyed babysitting and was appreciated for being a caregiver for the elderly. Rose had a pleasant personality, was always friendly and loved to joke, an inherited trait of her children as well. Nothing meant more to her than her family, as she always looked forward to their visits, especially ones from her grandchildren.


Surviving are her children, Sheila Travis (Ned), Donna Irey, Steve Parker (Loretta), Pat Harpenau (Dale), Jenny Messmer (Stan), Annette Parker and Barbara Steen (Brian) and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Hilarion Goffinet, Rita Mitchell, Preston Goffinet, Loretta Heaser Kujak, Betty Jacob Holman, Jean King, and Annette “Toots” Owen; grandchildren, Taryn Harpenau, Matthew Conen and Adam Beckman and a great granddaughter, Kearstin Parker.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, March 15, 2024, at St. Paul Catholic Church with burial in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until 11:30 AM on Friday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Rev. Kolbe Wolniakowski will officiate.


Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church or River’s Edge Animal Shelter.
