Rose Mcbrayer

July 27, 1942 — May 12, 2014

Cannelton, Indiana Rose M. McBrayer, 71, passed away May 12, 2014, at her home. She was born in Magnet, July 27, 1942, daughter of the late Edgar and Helen (Jacobs) Etienne. Also preceding her in death was her brother, Joe Etienne and sister Betty Jane Voges. A 1960 graduate of Cannelton High School, she was united in marriage to Melvin McBrayer July 2, 1960, at St. Michael Catholic Church. She retired from General Electric where she was employed for 35 years. Rose was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church where she enjoyed helping decorate the church. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially hosting holiday celebrations for the family. She enjoyed crafts and working in her yard and water garden. Rose is survived by her husband of 53 years, Melvin McBrayer; daughters, Roxanne McBrayer, Hawesville, Renee McBrayer, Maceo, Michelle Tinsley (John), Glasgow, Kentucky and Rhonda Storie, New Albany; sisters, Mary Ann Blandford, Tell City and Bonnie Reed, Saluda, North Carolina; grandchildren, Christopher Mosby, Anastastia Graves, Wesley Graves, Zachary Graves, Trey Tinsley, Ryne Tinsley, and Lacey Storie; great grandchildren, Carter and Ayla Graves. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, May 15, 2014, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. Rev. Barnabas Gillespie, OSB, will officiate. Visitation will be from 3:00 until 7:00 PM Wednesday and from 9:00 until 10:00 AM on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael Catholic Church Restoration Fund.
