Ronald Carlson

Ronald D. "Ron" Carlson, 83, passed away on August 5, 2023 at Deaconess Midtown in Evansville.

He was born in Jefferson, Wisconsin on October 16, 1939, son of John and Edna (Farnsworth) Carlson.

Ron was a 1958 graduate of Jefferson (WI) High School and was in the United States Navy for 20 years. He retired from Indiana Department of Corrections in Branchville, after 16 years and had been a cook at Bill and Dave's Smokin' Pit.

Ron was a life member of V.F.W. Post #2939 where he had held the offices of Commander and Chaplain. He enjoyed attending District 8 meetings where he served as Chaplain for four years.

Ron enjoyed reading western novels by William Johnstone. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.

Surviving is his wife of 28 years, Julina "Faye" (Bernardi) Carlson, Tell City; children, Stacy Cutshaw, Jeff Carlson, Glenda Buffa (Joe) and Brenda Ceja; grandchildren, Robert, Ashton and Savannah Cutshaw, Scott Ceja, Gabrielle Greig (Evan)and Samantha Buffa (Jake Mitchell).

Preceding him in death were his parents; a sister, Patsy Carlson and brothers, John, Jr. and William Carlson.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM CDT on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel with visitation from 2:00 PM until service time. Father Kolbe Wolniakowski will officiate with a military service conducted by the V.F.W. Post #2939.
