Robert Thomas

Rome, Indiana Robert "Bob" K. Thomas, 61, passed away July 28, 2018 at Golden Living Center in Tell City. He was born in Perry County, Indiana on November 18, 1956 to the late Alfred and Ruth (Gruver) Thomas. Also preceding him in death was a brother, Arnold R. Thomas. Bob was a 1975 graduate of Perry Central High School. He was employed at Best Home Furnishing, Cannelton Divison, for 22 years. A member of Rome United Methodist Church, Bob enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, watching Cardinals baseball, his horses and fishing. He especially loved teaching local youth how to "catfish the Ohio". Surviving are his sisters, Darlene Etienne (Hubert), Washington, IN, Lilith Reeves, Speedway, IN, Juanda Hoskins (Stan), Greenwood, IN and Karen Waninger (Mark), Jamestown, IN; nieces and nephews, Teri Etienne Dunlavy (Mike), Brett Etienne, Leigh Ann Etienne Latshaw (Derek), Julie Reeves Porep (Tommy), Michael Reeves (Matthew Jordan), Bradley Waninger and David Waninger; one great niece and seven great nephews. Bob also leaves behind an extended network of cousins, fishing companions and friends, who were an important part of his life from childhood to his final days. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM CST on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Pastor Ann Skiba will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday from 2:00-7:00 PM and Sunday from Noon until 2:00 PM CST at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made Rome United Methodist Church or Horse Rescue South, Inc.
