Tell City, Indiana - Robert M. Lewis, 83, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2015, at Oakwood Health Campus. He was born on May 12, 1931, in Browder, Kentucky, son of the late Robert S. and Mary (Craig) Lewis. Also preceding him in death was a brother, Wayne Forest Lewis. After 36 years of service, he retired from Naval Ordnance Station in Louisville, Kentucky, where he was a procurement specialist. He was a 25 year member of the Army National Guard. Bob married Frieda (Aldridge) Phillips on April 12, 1975, and enjoyed dancing, fishing, hunting, camping, bowling, golf and euchre. Bob volunteered for several years at the Tell City Babe Ruth concession stand. Surviving are his wife, Frieda; daughter, Nancy Cockrum, Avon; sons, David Lewis (Anita), Princeton and Tracy Lewis (Sondra), Winslow; step daughter, Debra Jo Knauer (Don), Pekin; step son, Dale A. Phillips (Joan), Fayetteville, North Carolina; sister, Sylvia June Reiplinger (John), Evansville; grandchildren, Justin Lewis, Valerie Black and Erin Cockrum; four great grandchildren; eight step grandchildren and 9 step great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 PM on Monday and from 9:00 AM until service time on Tuesday. Pastor Jim Gidcumb and Pastor Paul Alvey will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or Gentiva Hospice.
