Maxville, Indiana - Robert I. ""Rick"" Krutz, 61, passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Golden Living Center in Tell City. He was born in Perry County, near Dodd, on March 21, 1950, son of the late Irvin J. and Dorothy Ann (Carlton) Krutz. Also preceding him in death was a brother, Michael Krutz. He attended Clay-Huff Elementary School and was a graduate of Chrisney High School. Rick was united in marriage on June 28, 1969, to Doris Jean Gogel at Mary of Help Christians Catholic Church in Mariah Hill. Rick had worked at Schwab Safe, Mulzer Crushed Stone, Can-Clay, Sommerset Oil Refinery and Spencer County Highway Department. Along with his father, and later with his son, he owned and operated Krutz Shoe Sales and Repair. Rick enjoyed hunting, playing cards, dogs, cows, horseshoes, telling stories and jokes and being with family and friends. He was a member of Spencer and Perry County Coon Clubs. He was also a member of St. Pius Catholic Church and was proud to call Maxville his home for sixty years. Rick is survived by his wife of 42 years, Doris Jean Krutz; his children, Rick Krutz, Troy, John R. Krutz (Tracy), Brownsburg, Beth Ann Jordan (J. Paul), Tell City; grandchildren, Shelby Lynn, Allison Nicole, Kyla Jean, Catelyn Marissa and Brendan John Krutz, Kyndall Elise, Halle Ann and William Irvin Jordan and a special nephew, Brian Krutz. His extended family include Patrick, Martin, Hilbert, Eddie Joe, Leon and Chris Gogel, Barbara Wissell, Catherine Fleck, Eileen Gogel, Stella Miles, Norma Kress, Helen Riley, Wanda Luebbehusen, Paula Brummit and Alice Snyder along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including a family friend, Lisa Motteler and her children, Austin and Kylee. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at St. Pius Catholic Church with burial in Greenwood Cemetery in Tell City. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday and from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM on Wednesday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Pius Catholic Church of American Diabetes Association.
