Robert Heckel

Tell City, Indiana Robert A. Heckel, 82, passed away January 9, 2013 at Owensboro Medical System. He was born September 8, 1930 in Lamar, son of the late Walter and Hannah (Wolf) Heckel. Also preceding him in death was his wife Marilyn (Hoesli) Heckel; brothers, Bernard and Bruno Heckel and a sister Bernice Heckel. A U.S. Army veteran, he was a farmer and a logger. Robert enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. He is survived by his daughters; Debbie Cunningham, Tell City, Becky Bradley, Loogoottee, Pam Billow, Tell City, Robin Meeks, Lewisport, Kentucky and Tammy Vonderhiede, Cannelton; sister, Rosalee Mooreland, Tell City; brother, Eugene Heckel, Tell City; 16 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, January 11, 2013, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in St. Peter's Church Cemetery, where there will be military graveside rites. Visitation will be 2:00 until 7:00 PM Thursday and from 9:00 until 11:00 AM Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church.
