Robert Ettensohn

Tell City, Indiana Robert H. Ettensohn, 77, passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Deaconess Gateway in Newburgh, IN. He was a resident of Marco Island, FL and was in Evansville to attend a family reunion. Bob was born in Tell City on June 23, 1935 to Herman and Myrtle (Dauby) Ettensohn, both deceased. He was a 1954 graduate of Tell City High School and served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Korea. On July 12, 1958 he married the former Patricia Snyder at St. Michael Catholic Church in Cannelton. Bob was a member of San Marco Catholic Church on Marco Island, serving as an usher for five years and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He had worked for B.F. Goodrich Tire Company for over 18 years and in 1996 retired from the Continental/General Tire Company after 19 years. During his sales career he had lived and worked in Indianapolis and Bloomington, IN; Bowling Green, KY; Jeffersonville, IN; St. Louis, MO; and in the Cincinnati, OH area for over 26 years. Bob was the founder and coordinator of the Marco Golf League for 13 years. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Patricia (Snyder) Ettensohn; sons, Michael Ettensohn and his wife Janet, Fort Wayne, IN and Robert H. Ettensohn Jr. and his wife Carol, Lakeland, FL; six grandchildren, Daniel, Tara, Tracey, Eric, David and Andrew Ettensohn; great grandchild, Micah Coulson; brothers, Cletus Ettensohn and his wife Teresa, Paducah, Kentucky and David Ettensohn and his wife Billie Jo, Henderson, Kentucky. Bob was preceded in death by his brothers, Leo (Jock) and Bernard (Butch) Ettensohn and two sisters, Theresa Ettensohn and Mary Catherine Diekmann. He leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 18, 2012 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Cannelton with burial in the church cemetery where the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2939 will conduct military graveside rites. Rev. Sengole Thomas G. will officiate.Visitation will be from 4:00 until 7:00 PM on Friday and from 8:30 until 9:30 AM Saturday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City. A memorial Mass will be held at a later date at San Marco Catholic Church on Marco Island. Memorial contributions may be made to San Marco Catholic Church, 851 San Marco Road, Marco Island, FL 34145 or St. Michael Catholic Church Restoration Fund or St. Michael Cemetery.
