Tell City, Indiana - Robert E. ""Eddie"" Cronin, 30, passed away at 10:22 PM on Friday, July 13, 2012, in Owensboro, Kentucky, as the result of an automobile accident. He was born March 28, 1982 and lived his life enjoying his family, friends, fishing and playing golf. Eddie will be most remembered by his accomplishments in football. A 2000 graduate of Perry Central High School, he had received all-conference and all-state awards and was a member of the 1999 Class A state runner-up football team. He also played in the Indiana North/South All Star game. Eddie played football for Anderson College and also for the Evansville Blue Cats during their inaugural season. He had been an assistant coach at Kentucky Wesleyan from 2009 until 2011 when he became general manager and defensive coordinator for Evansville Rage, in indoor football league. He is survived by his mother, ""Babby"" Cronin; father, Bob Cronin; sisters, Ann Piper (Joe) and Emily Roark (Phil); niece and nephews; Cassy and Dacota Schaad and Robbie and Joey Piper; grandmothers, Zella Gilbert and Minnie Marie Cronin; fiance' Melissa Logsdon and aunts and uncles. A niece, Megan Piper and his grandfathers, Bob Stilwell and Leonard Earl Cronin, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at Huber Funeral Home, 1139 12th Street, Tell City, with burial in Simons Cemetery in Tobinsport. Pastor Ann Skiba will officiate. Visitation will be from 3:00 until 8:00 PM on Monday and from 9:00 AM until service time on Tuesday. Memorials may be made to Eddie Cronin Scholarship Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. The family requests that friends and family visiting the funeral home wear their school colors or football jerseys in Eddie's memory.
