Tell City, Indiana Robert J. "Bob" Conen, 90, passed away October 29, 2017 at Oakwood Health Campus. He was born in Tell City, Indiana on January 11, 1927 to the late Otto and Bertha (Berg) Conen. Also preceding him in death was a sister, Berniece Brown. Bob was a graduate of Troy High School and a veteran of the United States Army, where he served in the Korean Conflict. He had worked for National Southwire Aluminum, retiring in 1989 and was a farmer. Bob was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. He enjoyed farming, gardening, working with his flowers and spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving is his wife, Etta Jean (Kieser) Conen, Tell City; daughter, Cathy Franey (Keith), Owensboro; son, Bruce Conen (Rebecca), Newburgh; grandchildren, Patrick Franey (Courtney), Owensboro, Jennifer Perkins (Dustin), Bowling Green, Matthew Franey, Owensboro and Nash Conen, Newburgh; one great-granddaughter, Emma Franey, Owensboro. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM CST Thursday, November 2, 2017 at St. Paul Catholic Church. Rev. Dennis Duvelius will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel on Wednesday from 3:00-7:00 P.M. and Thursday from 8:30-9:30 A.M. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church or Cure SMA., 925 Busse Road, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007.
