Robert Baur

Tell City, Indiana - Robert L. "Tail"Baur, 86, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2013, at Oakwood Health Campus. He was born in Tell City on March 31, 1927. His parents were the late Albert and Dolly (Niemczyk) Baur. Also preceding him in death were his sisters, Lorraine "Sis" Kuster and Alberta "Birdie" Inman; brothers, Victor "Wally" Baur and Ralph "Putty" Baur and brothers in infancy; granddaughter, Tracy Anderson. Bob married Rua Louise Price on September 15, 1956 in Tell City. He retired as an inspector from Tell City Chair Company. Bob enjoyed sports, having played in his younger days and also enjoyed fishing and bowling. While residing at Oakwood, he enjoyed entering sweepstakes and won many prizes. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Louise; daughter, Kathy Baur Anderson, Tell City; sons, Bob Baur (Debbie), Muncie, Indiana and Tim Baur (Libby), Tell City; brothers, Bill "Pee Wee" Baur, Tell City and Walter "Sonny" Baur", Tell City; grandchildren, Jeremy Baur, Christopher Baur, Kelly Hamilton and Andi Baur; great grandchildren, Tyler, Conner, Madelyn and Elliott Baur and Bryce Ridener. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 7:00 PM on Monday and from 11:00 AM until service time on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to Oakwood Activity Fund.
