Richard Smith

Tell City, Indiana Richard F. Smith, 67, passed away Thursday July 21, 2011 at his home. He was born May 20, 1944 in Hawesville, son of the late Everett and Elizabeth (Carmichael) Smith. Also preceding him in death was a sister, Artie Wethington and brothers, Everett Smith Jr. and Edward Smith. Richard was a retired truck driver from E.R. Carpenter in Ferdinand. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and his dogs. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Cannelton. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Leta (Pate) Smith; daughters, Pat Anson (Robert), Tell City and Paula Aishe (Bob), Tell City; sons, Gary Smith (Rita), Tell City and Rick Smith (Dolly), Cannelton; step-daughter, Leta Dunn, Troy; step-sons, Doug Dunn, Tell City and Mike Dunn, Tell City; 18 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and a ""favorite"" sister-in-law, Alma Nix, Tell City. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in Cloverport City Cemetery. Rev. Bill Reid will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Friday and from 9:00 AM until service time on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to Perry County Humane Society or Alzheimer's Association.
