Cannelton, Indiana Richard P. "Chick" Dooley, 78, passed away May 26, 2017 at Golden Living Center. He was born June 5, 1938 in Tell City, Indiana to the late Clarence M. Dooley and Catherine (Schneider) Dooley-Hargis. Richard was a 1956 graduate of Tell City High School and a U.S. Navy veteran. He was united in marriage on December 30, 1956 to the former Irene May, who precedes him in death this past February. Richard was the owner and operator of Dooley's Plumbing, Heating and Electrical. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Harry G. Myers American Legion Post 142, Cannelton Volunteer Fire Department and the former Cannelton Jaycees. Richard is survived by his daughters; Cathy Hanan (Gary), Tell City, Karen Redd (Robert), Newburgh and Sandi Wrye (Jeff), Tell City; nine grandchildren, Nick Zellers (Jamie), Phil Zellers (Heidi), Amber Taylor (Tim), Ryan Hanan (Megan), Juliann Price (Scott), Stuart Dooley (Ashley), Dustin Wrye, Leslie Henrickson (Bart) and Stephani Horton (Josh) and nine great grandchildren, Autumn and Aubrey Zellers, Luke, Jax and Mayci Zellers, Amelia Price, Richard Dooley and Owen and Jude Henrickson; a brother, Mike Dooley (Carol), Jasper; sisters, Barb Dooley, Lexington, KY and Joan Gilliland (Jerry), Bloomfield, IN; sisters-in-law, Naomi Dooley, Lexington and Sue Dooley, Rockport. Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife, Irene Dooley, and brothers, David and Eugene Dooley. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Monday, May 29, 2017 at St. Michael Catholic Church. Rev. Sengole Thomas G. will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00-7:00 PM and Monday 8:30-9:30 AM at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
